Meet our the rest of our 2019 staff!

February 9, 2019

You've already been introduced to our great team of editors, but Southern Quill  would not be the same if it wasn't for our amazing interns, volunteers, readers, and assistant editors!

Shon Beaumont is road/mountain bike enthusiast native to St. George. He can mainly be found on local trails in the saddle of his trusty beater bike. When he is not chasing KOM’s or enjoying a quick afternoon jaunt he can be found at the local coffee shop working on a fair amount of homework.

Erin Severeid is a freshman majoring in English at Dixie State University. She was born in Price and lived there for five years before moving to Salt Lake City. She attended and graduated from East High School (yes, the High School Musical school) and was on the debate team for four years where she served as captain for two years and secretary for one year. She also served as the co-editor of her school’s literary magazine “Pencilings” during her senior year of high school. Her interests include: reading, writing, hiking, cooking, watching movies, and yoga.

Denali Lathrop is originally from Alaska! She's an English major with an emphasis in Creative writing. She loves reading, writing, anything outdoors, hanging out with friends, bucket lists, and penguins.

Madison Bidinger graduates this May with a degree in Professional and Technical Writing. She loves movies, painting, and reading. Everyone keeps asking what she wants to do after graduation because apparently retiring isn't an option yet. Madison has presented at UCUR and the Dixie Symposium, but her most impressive accomplishment was in middle school when someone told her she wouldn't make the three-point shot in PE, and she made it with nothing but net. She has been chasing that high ever since.

Julie Handy is from small-town Utah. She is an English Major with an emphasis in Professional/Technical writing. She is a firm belief that a day spent by a river in the sun can wash your troubles away.

Tahina Wursten is a current member of the Southern Quill as a volunteer reader and a student at Dixie State University majoring in English with a Creative Writing emphasis. She has also completed at DSU a Nursing Assistant certification and an Associate of Applied Science in Early Child Education. The Florida native has called Saint George, Utah home for the past 10 years with her husband, and 3 children: Isabella, Matthew, and Alexander.
